The Social Development Foundation (SDF) follows a Community Driven Development (CDD) approach, focusing on empowering communities and ensuring their active participation in development activities. A key aspect of this strategy is to create opportunities for women to engage in decision-making processes.
SDF disburses development funds directly to village institutions as grants, ensuring transparency and effective utilization. Skill development training is provided to un/underemployed youths, facilitating employment opportunities and sustainable livelihoods. One-time grant support is offered to uplift vulnerable groups, along with encouraging regular savings among the poorest community members based on their preferences.
To ensure long-term sustainability, SDF federates Second Generation Institutions at cluster and district levels. A social safety net is established to help the rural poorest build resilience against shocks, and linkages with formal financial institutions are created to enhance financial inclusion.
SDF also emphasizes building and renovating local infrastructure through the Construction Works Fund (CWF) to improve communication, which contributes to national economic growth. Additionally, efforts are made to raise awareness, improve attitudes, and promote practices that enhance the nutritional status of target beneficiaries.
